Spoon & Stable: Restroom Murals
Mural design and installation
Spoon and Stable is a beloved and celebrated restaurant in the North Loop of Minneapolis. Founded in 2014 by James Beard award-winning chef Gavin Kaysen, Spoon and Stable is simultaneously a neighborhood favorite and a destination for foodies from across the globe.
After 10 years of delighting the community, Gavin and his team closed the restaurant doors for a few weeks to completely refresh the spaces, including the restrooms. I was enlisted to bring new life to the clean and simple men’s and women’s rooms.
I loved the challenge of honoring the familiar Spoon and Stable brand while inserting whimsical, organic and hand-painted wall decor into the spaces. With faux moldings, trim, and still life “paintings,” the restrooms had elements of surprise and delight around every corner.
Visit Spoon and Stable at 211 North First Street, Minneapolis. (You won’t be disappointed!)
