Mercury Mosaics founder and mosaic artist Mercedes Austin came to Senn & Sons to help develop a brand strategy and packaging design for her new creative endeavor, Mosaic Candy Shop. The new company is a natural extension of her handmade tile company, Mercury Mosaics, and her personal art practice, but we needed to unravel its brand story and weave it into the larger picture, creating a brand architecture that allows all three brands to thrive on their own yet support the other naturally. Once the brand story was written, we worked with the brilliant visual identity designed by Olivia Herrick to expand it into packaging for the DIY mosaic kits. Attention to efficiency (one package design for a variety of mosaic designs), clarity (this is a beginner-friendly kit!), inspiration, and community-building led us to our bold, colorful, and easy-to-use design.
