Be the Change Mural and Art Print Fundraiser + Planner Collection

Mural Design, Mural Painting, Art Print Design, Program Concept

After the unrest following the killing of George Floyd in Minneapolis, our community was devastated. Most of the buildings in Uptown Minneapolis were boarded up and working to rebuild. In that time of uncertainty, the artist community took on the task of making the temporary walls covering buildings inspiring, colorful, and welcoming.

The mural inspired my community to want to do something to help, so I created a limited edition art print using the design of the mural. 100% of the proceeds of print sales were donated to two local nonprofits working diligently to end systemic and generational poverty, and our efforts raised more than $11,000 for the organizations.

Inspired by the mural and art print, I partnered with Blue Sky to create a line of planners for Target that would create the same energy of community and optimism. An additional $10,000 was donated to organizations doing important anti-poverty work.
